Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 2/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high centred over the northeast of the State is moving eastwards, and will be centred over the northern Tasman Sea on Thursday. A series of fronts are expected to move over the southern half of the State from Thursday till Saturday, with a ridge of high pressure persisting over the northern interiors.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPossible isolated light showers about the Lower South East until evening. Late evening fog patches over the agricultural area. Cool with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, fresh near southern coasts.Wednesday 3 JulyCold inland early, with early frost over the northern agricultural area and Flinders and Pastoral districts. Early fog patches over and to the east of the Flinders and Mount Lofty Ranges. Cool to mild with mainly moderate north to northwesterly winds, fresh to strong about southern and western coasts.Thursday 4 JulyIsolated showers developing over the agricultural area, increasing to scattered showers over the southern agricultural area. Possible thunderstorms over Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to westerly winds, fresh to strong near the coasts.Friday 5 JulyIsolated showers over the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts, increasing to scattered showers over the southern agricultural area. Possible thunderstorms and small hail over Kangaroo Island, the southern Fleurieu Peninsula, the Lower South East and the Upper South East coast. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds, fresh to strong near the coasts, easing during the day.Saturday 6 July
Scattered showers about southern coasts and ranges. Isolated showers over the remainder of the southern agricultural area and about western coasts. Generally cool to cold with moderating southwest to northwesterly winds in the south. Light and variable winds inland.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon through to midnight Saturday are expected to be less than 2 mm inland, increasing to 2 to 10 mm about southern agricultural areas and western coasts. Isolated falls of 10 to 30 mm are possible about southern coasts and ranges, mostly occurring from midday Thursday.
Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and near western coasts, contracting southwards during Monday, then clearing during Tuesday. Isolated showers developing northeast of about Giles to Leigh Creek on Tuesday. Generally cool with mainly light winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
