MELBOURNE - Jul 1/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high centred over South Australia will drift slowly eastwards, reaching New South Wales on Wednesday. A cold front will move across the State on Thursday ahead of a ridge of high pressure late in the week. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPossible isolated light showers about the Lower South East until evening. Morning fog, mainly on and east of the ranges. Cool to mild with light winds tending moderate northwesterly in the south and west, stronger about the southern coast.Wednesday 3 JulyFine. Cool to mild with mainly moderate north to northwesterly winds, fresh to strong about the southern coasts.Thursday 4 JulyScattered showers and possible thunderstorms developing about the southern coast during the afternoon and evening. Isolated showers extending over southern agricultural areas, possibly reaching northern agricultural areas later in the day. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest winds shifting cooler, fresh to strong southwesterly following the change later in the day.Friday 5 JulyIsolated showers over agricultural areas, possibly reaching southern Pastoral districts during the morning. Scattered showers over southern coasts and ranges during the early morning. Cool with moderating southwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning through until midnight Friday are expected to be less than 2 mm inland, increasing to 2 to 10 mm about southern agricultural areas and the West Coast district. Isolated falls of 10 to 30 mm are possible about southern coasts and ranges, mostly occurring from midday Thursday.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers about the agricultural areas gradually easing and contracting to southern coasts by the end of the period. Generally cool to mild with southwest to northwesterly winds easing.
