WASHINGTON - Jun 28/13 - SNS -- The 2013 planted area for rye is estimated at 1.42 million acres, up 9% from 2012, according to the USDA seeded area estimates for 2013.
Harvested area is expected to total 321,000 acres, up 29% from last year. As of June 23, rye in Oklahoma, the largest rye-producing State, was 49% harvested, 26 percentage points behind the 5-year average pace.
