MELBOURNE - Jun 27/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system will strengthen over the head of the Bight on Friday and extend a ridge across northern Victoria that will persist through the weekend and early next week. Meanwhile the tail end of a series of fronts embedded in westerly flow will cross Tasmania during the weekend and Monday. Forecast for the rest of FridayMorning fog patches over the north and Gippsland. Local morning frosts. Isolated showers over the southwest. Mostly fine elsewhere, just the chance of isolated showers, mainly over the far north. A cool to mild day with light and variable winds.Saturday 29 JuneMorning frost patches in the northeast and morning fog patches possible on the northern plains. Isolated showers near and south of the ranges, mainly near the coast and mostly clearing at night. Showers falling as snow above 1600 metres. A cool day with light winds tending light to moderate westerly near the coast.Sunday 30 JuneMorning fog patches inland and morning frost in the northeast. Isolated showers near the western and central coasts extending elsewhere in the south in the afternoon apart from central and eastern Gippsland. Isolated showers also possible over the northwest in the afternoon. A cool day with light west to southwesterly winds tending moderate to fresh westerly near the coast.Monday 1 JulyIsolated showers over most districts near and south of the ranges, possibly extending to the north in the afternoon.
