Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 25/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred just to the southeast of Tasmania extends a ridge across Victoria. A cold front approaching from the west will weaken and slide southeastwards on Thursday, just clipping southwest Victoria. A high pressure system will strengthen over the head of the Bight on Friday and will extend a ridge across Victoria later Friday and during Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMorning fog and frost patches, then fine and sunny across most of the State. Isolated showers along the Gippsland coast and over far east Gippsland clearing this evening. Cool to mild with light winds tending northerly over western districts.Thursday 27 JuneMorning fog and frost patches over central and eastern areas then a cool to mild day. Isolated showers over the southwest in the afternoon and evening. Light variable winds in the east, but light to moderate northwesterly winds developing over the west.Friday 28 JuneMorning fog and frost patches inland. Isolated showers in the west. A cool day with light winds tending west to southwesterly, moderate near the coast.Saturday 29 JuneMorning frost in the northeast. Isolated showers extending to southwest and central districts. A cool day with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds, fresh near the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Wednesday.Product IDV10310
