Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 21/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low 1005 hPa near Port Lincoln is moving north to northeastwards and is forecast to be near Whyalla this evening and then weaken near Port Augusta during Sunday. A high pressure system well south of the Bight will move slowly eastward to be near Tasmania on Sunday and over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers over the south of the pastoral districts and the agricultural area tending to rain at times over central districts and Eyre Peninsula. Isolated showers elsewhere south of about Coober Pedy. Possible isolated thunderstorms over Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island. Cool to cold with moderate east to northeasterly winds over the southeast and south central districts, fresher about the Gulfs. Generally moderate to fresh southwest to northwesterly winds elsewhere, easing.Sunday 23 JuneFine over the northern Pastoral districts. Isolated showers over the remainder north of about Loxton to Kingscote, increasing to scattered showers over the Flinders, Mid North and Northeast Pastoral districts during the day. Early morning fog patches. Cool with moderate easterly winds, tending light and variable in the north.Monday 24 JuneFine apart from early morning fog patches south of Woomera. Cool with light to moderate northeasterly winds.Tuesday 25 JunePossible isolated showers over the far west otherwise fine. Cool with moderate northerly winds, freshening in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals for the remainder of Saturday through until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 10 to 20 mm over the southern Pastoral, Flinders, Mid North, Yorke Peninsula, and possibly Eyre Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Adelaide metropolitan and Mount Lofty Ranges districts, with local falls of 20 to 30 mm possible mainly about the northern ranges. Otherwise falls of 5 to 10 mm are expected over adjacent regions, decreasing to less than 2 mm over the southeast and the far north and west.Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers extending over western and southern parts during Wednesday reaching a line Keith to Port Augusta then becoming confined to the agricultural areas on Thursday before contracting to southern coasts on Friday. Possible showers in the west on Friday. Cool to cold with mainly light to moderate northeast to northwest winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
