Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 21/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low 1004 hPa southwest of Port Lincoln is moving northwards and is forecast to be just south of Port Lincoln tonight, near Whyalla late Saturday evening and then weaken near Port Augusta during Sunday. A high pressure system well southwest of the Bight will move slowly eastward to be near Tasmania on Sunday and in the Tasman Sea on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers south tending to scattered over the agricultural area. Possible isolated thunderstorms over Eyre, Yorke and Fleurieu Peninsulas and Kangaroo Island. Cool with moderate northerly winds, fresh at times, turning moderate to fresh westerly in the west, and becoming strong about western coasts.Saturday 22 JuneScattered showers over the south of the pastoral districts and the agricultural area tending to rain at times over central districts and Eyre Peninsula. Isolated showers elsewhere south of about Coober Pedy and over the South East districts. Possible isolated thunderstorms over Eyre Peninsula and parts of the central districts. Cool to cold with light to moderate easterly winds in the southeast, tending westerly in the northeast. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwest winds in the southwest, tending westerly in the northwest.Sunday 23 JuneIsolated showers about the southern Pastoral districts north of about Loxton to Kingscote, tending to scattered showers over the Flinders and Northeast Pastoral districts during the day. Early morning fog patches. Cool with light to moderate easterly winds, tending light and variable in the north.Monday 24 JuneFine apart from early morning fog patches south of Woomera. Cool with light to moderate northeasterly winds.Tuesday 25 JunePossible isolated showers over the far west otherwise fine. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 2 mm in the north and west, reaching 2 to 5 mm over east of the Mt Lofty Ranges and the far southwest, 5 to 15 mm with falls of 15 to 25 mm possible about Kangaroo Island, Yorke Peninsula, Mid North, southern Flinders and parts of Eye Peninsula.Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers extending over western and southern parts during Wednesday reaching a line Keith to Port Augusta then confined to the agricultural areas on Thursday before contracting to southern coasts on Friday. Possible showers in the west on Friday. Cool to cold with mainly light to moderate northeast to northwest winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
