Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 19/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A 1030 hPa high pressure system centred south of Tasmania extends a ridge northwestwards over SA. A trough of low pressure will reach the far west late Thursday then move across the State on Friday. A low pressure system is expected to develop southwest of Kangaroo Island on Friday, then move northwards and weaken during Saturday to be near Woomera in the evening.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayEarly fog patches. Early frost patches in the east. Patchy light rain about parts of the pastoral and Flinders districts contracting southeastwards and clearing. Isolated showers about the West Coast district west of Ceduna extending to west of a line Cape Jervis to Cowell and becoming scattered about western coasts late afternoon and evening. Cool with light moderate northeast to northwest winds, freshening about southern coasts, shifting southwesterly in the far west.Friday 21 JuneIsolated showers extending across the State except the far north, increasing to scattered over the agricultural area. Possible isolated thunderstorms over Eyre, Yorke and Fleurieu Peninsulas and Kangaroo Island. Early fog patches in the far north. Early frost over the Flinders and south of the Northeast Pastoral. Cool to mild with moderate northerly winds, fresh at times, turning moderate to fresh west to southwesterly about western and central parts, strong about western coasts.Saturday 22 JuneScattered showers over the south of the pastoral districts and western and central parts of the agricultural area. Isolated showers elsewhere south of about Coober Pedy. Possible isolated thunderstorms over Eyre Peninsula, the south of the Northwest Pastoral, Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island. Cool to cold with light to moderate easterly winds in the southeast, tending westerly in the northeast. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwest winds in the southwest, tending westerly in the northwest.Sunday 23 June
Isolated showers over the pastoral districts southeast of about Coober Pedy and over the northeast of the agricultural area. Cool with light to moderate easterly winds, tending light and variable in the north.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday morning until midnight Sunday are expected to be less than 2 mm north of Marree and 2 to 5 mm over eastern districts and the far west, 5 to 15 mm elsewhere reaching 15 to 25 mm about south central coasts and the west coast of Eyre Peninsula.
Monday until WednesdayFine Monday. Possible isolated showers over the far west Tuesday and the Northwest Pastoral on Wednesday, with isolated showers across the agricultural area on Wednesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
