MELBOURNE - Jun 18/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system centred to the southwest of Tasmania extends a ridge northwards to South Australia. This system will move slowly eastwards across Victoria on Wednesday and Thursday. A low pressure system will approach western Victoria from the west during Friday before moving towards southern New South Wales on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayWidespread showers over central and eastern parts of Gippsland with isolated showers elsewhere. Showers falling as snow above 1300 metres. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 19 JuneEarly morning frost in the north. Scattered showers in Gippsland, isolated in remaining southern districts, mainly near the coast. Showers falling as snow above 1200 metres. A cool to cold day with mainly light south to southeasterly winds.Thursday 20 JuneWidespread early frost and morning fog patches. Isolated showers near the coast and over the southeast. A cool to cold day with light and variable winds.Friday 21 JuneWidespread early frost and morning fog patches. Isolated showers developing in the west during the afternoon. A cool day with a light to moderate northerly wind.Saturday 22 JuneIsolated showers in the west contracting northwards during the day. Isolated showers developing in the far east during the afternoon. Fine elsewhere.
