Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 18/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1028 hPa well south of SA extends a ridge northwards over the State. A trough of low pressure will reach the far west late Thursday and across the State on Friday. A low pressure system is then expected to move over central parts of the State during Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers near southern and central coasts, contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Cool with light to moderate southeast to southwesterly winds, tending northeasterly in the west.Wednesday 19 JunePossible isolated early showers about the east coast of Lower Eyre Peninsula. Patchy rain inland west of Coober Pedy. Morning fog and isolated early frost patches about the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts. A cool day with mainly light east to northeasterly winds.Thursday 20 JunePatchy rain north of Roxby Downs, clearing during the morning. Isolated showers developing about western coasts during the afternoon. Early fog patches. Early frost patches in the east. Cool with light moderate northeast to northwesterly winds shifting southwesterly in the far west.Friday 21 June
Isolated showers extending across the State except the far northeast, tending scattered over the agricultural area. the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts, increasing to scattered showers near southern coasts. Cool to mild with moderate northerly winds, turning moderate to fresh southwesterly throughout except for the far northeast.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning through until midnight Friday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 10 mm about parts of the southern agricultural area and in the far northwest and local falls of 5 to 15 mm near southern coasts.
Saturday 22 June
Isolated showers south of about Coober Pedy, tending scattered over Eyre Peninsula, the Flinders and the south of the pastoral districts. Cool to cold with light to moderate easterly winds in the southeast, tending westerly in the northeast. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwest winds in the west.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon until midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm, but less than 2 mm in the far northeast.
Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers over eastern inland parts clearing Sunday evening. Isolated showers about southern coasts, clearing early Monday morning. Possible isolated showers in the far west on Tuesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
