MELBOURNE - Jun 17/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation An upper level trough over northern Victoria will clear away to the north overnight. A high pressure system to the south of Tasmania will move slowly eastwards over the next few days. A low pressure system will approach western Victoria from the west during Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayWidespread showers and areas of rain over Gippsland, the Otway ranges and the southern part of the Central district. Scattered showers over most remaining southern and mountain areas. Isolated showers or thunderstorms possible over the northern plains, mainly in the east. Showers falling as snow above 1200 metres. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, locally fresh along the Gippsland coast.Tuesday 18 JuneEarly morning frost, mainly in the northeast. Scattered showers over most southern and mountain areas, widespread in the far east. Isolated showers possible over the northern plains. Showers falling as snow above 1300 metres. A cool to cold day with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, locally fresh in the east.Wednesday 19 JuneEarly morning frost in the north. Scattered showers in Gippsland, isolated in remaining southern and mountain areas. Showers falling as snow above 1200 metres. A cool to cold day with mainly light south to southeasterly winds.Thursday 20 JuneWidespread early frost and morning fog patches. Isolated showers near the coast and over the southeast. A cool to cold day with light and variable winds.Friday 21 JuneWidespread early frost and morning fog patches. Isolated showers developing in the west during the afternoon.
