MELBOURNE - Jun 14/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system over the southwestern Tasman Sea is slowly tracking northeast. This low is expected to remain very slow moving until Wednesday when a high pressure system moves south of the Bight extending a ridge across western and northeastern New South Wales and into the northern Tasman Sea. Forecast for the rest of FridayPartly cloudy over the north and central coasts and adjacent ranges. Scattered showers and the chance of thunderstorms in the far southeast, most widespread near the Victorian border. Isolated showers over the ranges, tending to ares of drizzle on the western slopes. Snow showers on the Alps above 1500m. Northwest to southwest winds, ahead of a gusty southerly change in the far southeast of the state.Saturday 15 JunePartly cloudy. Scattered showers in the far southeast and along the south coast, most widespread near the Victorian border. Isolated showers on the central coast and drizzle about slopes and ranges. Snow showers on the Alps above 1500m, lowering to 1400m by evening. South to southwest winds, windy along the south and central coast and southern ranges.Sunday 16 JuneIsolated showers on the south and central coasts and over the southern ranges, more frequent near the Victorian border. Snow showers over the Alps above 1300m. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.Monday 17 JuneIsolated showers on the south and central coasts and over the southern ranges.
