MELBOURNE - Jun 9/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system is moving eastwards across the Tasman Sea. A small low pressure system will cross Bight waters on Sunday and approach Tasmania on Monday with an associated trough extending into southwest Victoria Monday night. The trough will remain slow moving over southwest Victoria on Tuesday and the low will slip southeast of Tasmania. A second low will develop at the head of the Bight on Tuesday and is expected to track eastwards over New South Wales on Wednesday before intensifying over eastern Bass Strait on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SundayFine and partly cloudy. Light to moderate northerly winds.Monday 10 JuneMorning fog and frost patches in the north and east. Fine apart from isolated showers developing over the southwest. Cool with light to moderate northerly winds, locally fresh at times in the south.Tuesday 11 JuneMorning fog and frost patches in the east. Isolated showers developing over most districts and increasing to areas of rain over the northwest during the afternoon and evening. Remaining dry over Gippsland. Cool and partly cloudy with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds tending southerly over the southwest.Wednesday 12 JuneCloudy with areas of rain. A cool day with moderate to fresh southerly winds tending light north to northeasterly in the east.Thursday 13 JuneCloudy with rain areas in the east, more widespread over Gippsland. Scattered showers over remaining districts, more isolated over the northwest.
