MELBOURNE - Jun 5/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1026 hPa is centred over the Tasman Sea. A cold front south of Western Australia will move across South Australian coastal districts on Thursday and across Victoria on Friday morning. Another high will move over the Bight on Friday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayCloudy. Fine in the far northeast. Isolated showers elsewhere, but mostly only light falls. Cool to mild with light to moderate north to northwesterly winds, fresh at times near southern coasts.Thursday 6 JuneIsolated showers about southern coasts, extending northwards during the afternoon and evening to areas south of about Ceduna to Clare to Lameroo, and increasing to scattered showers about southern coastal districts in the evening. Possible patchy rain north of Coober Pedy, more likely in the far north. Possible isolated showers about and east of the Flinders Ranges mainly during the morning. Generally mild with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds, fresh in the south ahead of a cooler west to southwesterly change during the evening.Friday 7 JuneIsolated light showers over the agricultural area and West Coast distrtict. Possible patchy rain in the far north. Cool to mild with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds easing.Saturday 8 JunePossible patchy rain in the far northeast during the morning. Possible isolated light showers over southern coasts. Generally mild with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Sunday 9 JuneFine apart from possible isolated showers about southern coasts of both Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. Generally mild with light to moderate northeast to northerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon until midnight Sunday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm about southern coastal districts and the far north, locally 10 to 15 mm about southern coasts, 2 to 5 mm about the remainder of the southern agricultural area, and up to 2 mm elsewhere.Monday until WednesdayPossible isolated showers developing about coastal districts from the west, extending further inland later in the period.
