MELBOURNE - May 30/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high pressure system over the southwestern Tasman Sea is slowly moving east maintaining a ridge to northwestern New South Wales. During Saturday and Sunday a cold front/trough system preceded by a rain band will cross the state as the ridge weakens. The next high will extend a ridge over New South Wales from Monday. This high is expected to be centred over the Tasman Sea on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of FridayAreas of fog, mainly int eh east. Isolated showers in southern and central parts, with rain areas developing in the west during the afternoon. Partly cloudy in the northeast with the chance of showers near the far north coast. Northeast to northwest winds.Saturday 1 JunePartly cloudy in the far northeast. Rain ares elsewhere tending widespread on the western slopes of the southern ranges. North to northwest winds ahead of a south to southwest change in the west and southeast.Sunday 2 JuneRain contracting to the northeast. Isolated showers in the west. South to southwest change extending throughout.Monday 3 JuneIsolated showers on the north and central coasts. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Early frost on the slopes and ranges.
