Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 30/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the Tasman Sea is slowly moving east. A low pressure system over the western Bight will track across South Australia during Friday and Saturday. A high west of Perth will follow quickly to be over the Bight on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdaySome high cloud with possible isolated showers and thunder, mostly on and east of the Flinders Ranges this evening. Patchy rain developing in the far northwest corner of the State during this evening. Mild with moderate northerly winds, turning light to moderate westerly in the far west.Friday 31 MayAreas of rain and isolated thunder extending throughout, increasing to widespread rain mostly over the northern agricultural area and southern pastoral districts. Rain turning to scattered showers and thunderstorms west of about Fowlers Bay late evening. Mild with moderate north to northwesterly winds, shifting fresh west to southwesterly in the west.Saturday 1 JuneAreas of rain and the chance of thunder in a band over northern agricultural areas and southern Pastoral districts with patchy rain elsewhere, all gradually easing and contracting to the eastern border districts by the end of the day. Scattered showers and thunderstorms over most agricultural areas immediately following the rain. Isolated showers over remaining agricultural and southern pastoral areas, easing later. Cool to mild with moderate northerly winds turning fresh westerly, and fresh to strong south to southeasterly about the coasts by the end of the day.Sunday 2 JunePatchy rain clearing from the eastern border districts during the morning. Isolated showers over southern and western coasts. Cool with moderating south to southeasterly winds.Monday 3 June
Isolated showers about southern and western coasts, contracting to southern coasts by the evening. Generally cool with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon to midnight Monday are expected to be less than 10 mm across the far north and far west, increasing to 10 to 30 mm over much of the remainder of the State. Falls of 30 to 50 mm are likely with the rain over the Riverland, Murraylands, Mid North and Flinders districts and southern parts of the North West Pastoral and North East Pastoral districts. Totals may be slightly higher depending on the path of the low and scattered showers and thunderstorms immediately following the band of rain.
Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers clearing from the southern coasts early on Tuesday, but returning to agricultural areas later in the period. Fine otherwise with cool to mild conditions and wind turning northeast to northwesterly mid-week.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Friday.Product IDS10033
