MELBOURNE - May 29/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high pressure system over the southwestern Tasman Sea is slowly moving east maintaining a ridge to northwestern New South Wales. During Saturday and Sunday a cold front/trough system preceded by a rain band will cross the state follow by another high moving south of the Bight and extending a ridge to southeastern Australia. This high will move slowly east over the next few days and is expected to be centred over the southwestern Tasman Sea on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers on the north coast and the chance of showers on the western slopes and plains. Isolated light showers developing in far the southwest during the evening. Partly cloudy remainder. Northwest to northeasterly winds.Thursday 30 MayPartly cloudy in the northeast with the chance of showers near the far north coast. Cloudy with isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered on the western slopes and the chance of thunderstorms in the west. Northeast to northwest winds.Friday 31 MayPartly cloudy in the northeast with the chance of showers near the far north coast. Patchy rain elsewhere tending to rain areas near near the victorian boarder. Northeast to northwest winds.Saturday 1 JunePartly cloudy in the far northeast. Rain ares elsewhere tending widespread on the western slopes of the southern ranges. North to northwest winds ahead of a south to southwest change in the west and southeast.Sunday 2 JuneRain clearing contracting to the northeast.
