MELBOURNE - May 28/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1033 hPa over the Tasman Sea is slowly moving east. A trough of low pressure will weaken and slide southeastwards across western coasts today. A cold front will move across the State during Friday and Saturday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayHigh cloud increasing throughout with possible isolated showers south of Coober Pedy to Marree, gradually extending from the west. Mild with light to moderate northeast to northwest winds.Thursday 30 MayCloudy with possible isolated showers south of about Giles to Marree, more likely near ocean coasts. Mild with moderate to fresh northerly winds, turning light to moderate westerly in the far west.Friday 31 MayPatchy rain extending throughout, increasing to areas of rain over the northern agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts and easing to isolated showers later in the west. Mild with moderate north to northwesterly winds, shifting moderate to fresh westerly in the west.Saturday 1 JuneAreas of rain in the east during the morning, with scattered showers to follow in the southeast. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts. Cool to mild with fresh westerly winds shifting southerly from the west, strong about the coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday morning to midnight Saturday are expected to be 20 to 40 mm over the northern agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts east of about Woomera, 10 to 20 mm over much of the remainder of the State, but decreasing to less than 5 mm in the far north and far west.Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and possibly extending to the south and west of the pastoral districts, contracting south and clearing later in the period.
