MELBOURNE - May 28/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will move steadily eastwards over the next few days. The next cold front will slip well to the south of Bass Strait late on Wednesday. Another cold front and low pressure trough will approach western Victoria on Friday then will move eastwards across the State on Saturday. A cold and unstable southwesterly airflow will follow over the State on Sunday as a low pressure system forms over the Tasman Sea and the next high pressure system approaches the Bight. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayDry tonight with light to moderate northeast to northerly winds.Wednesday 29 MayEarly morning fog and frost patches over the east. Dry across most districts, but isolated showers developing over the north late afternoon and evening. Cool to mild and partly cloudy with moderate to locally fresh northerly winds, strong about Alpine areas.Thursday 30 MayIsolated showers over the north and west, tending to rain areas about the northeast ranges. The chance of thunderstorms over the northwest during the afternoon and evening. Mainly fine over the Central district and Gippsland. A generally mild and mostly cloudy day with moderate to locally fresh northerly winds.Friday 31 MayPatchy rain at first, but rain areas increasing across most of the State during the afternoon and evening. Cool to mild with fresh northwest winds shifting cooler west to southwesterly over western and central districts during the afternoon and evening.Saturday 1 JuneRain areas tending to isolated showers over the southwest.
