MELBOURNE - May 26/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system centred near Mount Gambier will move slowly eastwards across Victoria today then over the Tasman Sea during the next few days, approaching the north island of New Zealand on Thursday. The next cold front will slip to the south of Victoria late on Wednesday but another cold front and low pressure trough will approach western Victoria later in the week. Forecast for the rest of MondayAreas of morning fog inland and early frost patches in the northeast. Isolated light showers in southern districts, contracting to the Gippsland coast during the afternoon and clearing at night. Mostly sunny in the north. Cool to mild with generally light winds.Tuesday 28 MayFine after morning fog patches. A cool to mild and partly cloudy day with a light to moderate northerly wind.Wednesday 29 MayDry across most districts, but isolated showers possible about the northeastern ranges and over the far northwest in the afternoon and evening. Cool to mild and partly cloudy with moderate to locally fresh northerly winds.Thursday 30 MayIsolated showers at first over the north and west, tending to rain areas during the day. Mainly fine over Central areas and Gippsland although a little rain likely in the evening.
