April Egg Output Rises 3 Percent

United States egg production totaled 7.81 billion during April 2013, up

3 percent from last year. Production included 6.75 billion table eggs, and

1.06 billion hatching eggs, of which 983 million were broiler-type and 78

million were egg-type. The total number of layers during April 2013 averaged
