MELBOURNE - May 20/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak front will move over the southeast of the State this morning. A low will deepen over the Bight on Tuesday, then move eastwards across the State and over New South Wales on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers south of about Adelaide, increasing to scattered about the southeast until about mid afternoon, clearing by evening. Possible morning thunder about Kangaroo Island and the South East. Areas of rain extending from the west to reach a line Streaky Bay to Roxby Downs late evening. Mild with moderate northerly winds turning southwest to southeast over the southeast.Tuesday 21 MayAreas of rain in the west, extending over most of the remainder of the State and easing later to scattered showers over the West Coast district and isolated showers over the Northwest Pastoral district. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northeast to northerly winds, shifting fresh to strong northwest to southwesterly in the west.Wednesday 22 MayAreas of rain east of about Port Lincoln to Leigh Creek, contracting southeast and clearing by evening. Isolated showers otherwise, tending scattered over the agricultural area. Cool with moderate northeast to northwest winds over central and eastern parts, turning southwest to southeast during the day. Fresh to strong south to southwesterly winds in the west.Thursday 23 MayIsolated showers gradually contracting southwards. Cool with moderate southerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday morning to midnight Thursday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm over the southeast, increasing to 10 to 30 mm over the reminder of the agricultural area and reaching 30 to 50 mm over parts of the far west. Only 5 to 10 mm in the far northeast.Friday until SundayIsolated showers about the agricultural area and West Coast district Friday, possibly extending into the Pastoral districts, then easing to isolated light showers mainly about southern coasts and ranges on the weekend.
