Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 19/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure will approach western Victoria tonight then will move eastwards across the State during Monday. A weak ridge of high pressure will cross the State on Tuesday as a low pressure system forms over the Bight. The low will move eastwards from SA to NSW on Wednesday, reaching the Tasman Sea later Thursday as the next ridge of high pressure extends from the Bight to south of Victoria.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers in the southeast tending to clear the evening, however isolated showers redeveloping from the western border this evening and extending eastwards tonight. Possible thunderstorms near the far southwest coast tonight. Dry across the north. Generally light winds tending north to northwesterly.Monday 20 MayLocal morning fog and frost in the north and east. Scattered showers affecting most districts, the clearing from the west late afternoon and evening. Isolated thunderstorms possible over the southwest and near the coast. Showers falling as snow above 1700 metres. Cool to mild with light to moderate northwesterly winds tending southwesterly from the west.Tuesday 21 MayMorning fog and frost patches. Isolated showers gradually clearing from the southeast during the afternoon. Dry elsewhere during the day but patchy rain entering the northwest at night. A cool and partly cloudy day with light winds tending light to moderate northeasterly over the west.Wednesday 22 MayLocal early morning fog and frost patches. Areas of rain over the northwest. Isolated showers possible over the remainder of northern Victoria. Isolated showers also near the coast, otherwise dry through much of southern Victoria. Cool with light to moderate to fresh east to southeasterly winds.Thursday 23 MayPatchy rain in the north clearing eastwards. Isolated showers in the south, scattered over Gippsland and falling as snow above 1600 metres.
