MELBOURNE - May 19/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1021 hPa over the northeast of South Australia will move eastwards. A weak front will move over the Lower South East district Monday morning. A low will deepen over the Bight on Tuesday, then move to the east of the State on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayCold early with frost and fog patches on and east of the ranges. Isolated showers developing near southern coasts and over the South East district, increasing to scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms over Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East coast from midday. A mild day with light to moderate northeast to northwest winds.Monday 20 MayIsolated showers south of about Noarlunga, clearing by evening. Possible early thunder about the Lower South East Coast. Areas of rain also extending from the west to reach areas west of about Coffin Bay to Roxby Downs late evening. Mild with moderate northerly winds turning southwest to southeast over the southeast.Tuesday 21 MayAreas of rain, clearing from western districts during the day with scattered showers to follow over the southwest. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northeast to northerly winds, shifting fresh to strong northwest to southwesterly in the west.Wednesday 22 MayAreas of rain east of about Kingscote to Yunta to Moomba, contracting east and clearing by midday. Isolated showers otherwise, tending scattered over the southern agricultural area. Cool with moderate northeast to northwest winds over central and eastern parts, turning southwest to southeast during the day. Fresh to strong south to southwest winds in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon to midnight Wednesday are expected to be 10 to 20 mm, reaching 20 to 40 mm in the far northwest but only 5 to 10 mm in the far northeast.Thursday until SaturdayScattered showers over the central and eastern agricultural districts, contracting to the South East district on Friday and becoming isolated on Saturday.
