MELBOURNE - May 18/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system lies over the Southern Tasman Sea and a high north of Adelaide extends a ridge to the south. These system are producing a southwesterly airstream over eastern NSW. The high and ridge will move slowly east over the weekend to lie over eastern parts of the state on Monday. A low pressure system and associated rain band is expected to affect the state next week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayMostly cloudy over the southern and central inland with possible isolated light showers. Isolated showers also possible on the far south coast. Fine and mostly sunny for the remainder of the state. Early frost areas about the ranges, and isolated early fog patches in the south. Southwesterly winds, locally fresh in the southeast.Sunday 19 MayWidespread frost about the ranges and slopes. Mostly sunny apart from the far south where there is the chance of isolated early morning showers along the coast and afternoon snow showers above 1400 metres on the ranges. Southwesterly winds.Monday 20 MayWidespread frost about the ranges and slopes. Mostly sunny in the east, although some high cloud increasing in the west. Isolated showers in the far south coast, and isolated afternoon snow showers above 1800 metres on the far southern ranges. Southwest to northwest winds.Tuesday 21 MayCloud extending throughout the state with rain developing west of the ranges, most widespread closer to the South Australian border.
