Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 17/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow moving upper level trough will gradually weaken over the southeastern New South Wales today with remnant shower activity on the southern slopes mostly. As a low associated with the upper trough moves across the Tasman Sea, a high pressure ridge will develop across New South Wales. This high will then remain the dominant system through the region over the weekend and into next week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated snow showers above 1700 metres over the Alps. Chance of a coastal shower or two on southern parts of the coast. Fine remainder. Southwesterly winds, easing.Saturday 18 MayMostly sunny, apart from the far southeast where there is the chance of early isolated showers along the coast. Early frost about the ranges. Southwesterly winds.Sunday 19 MayWidespread frost about the ranges and slopes. Mostly sunny apart from the far south where there is the chance of isolated early morning showers along the coast and afternoon snow showers above 1400 metres on the ranges. Southwesterly winds.Monday 20 MayWidespread frost about the ranges and slopes. Mostly sunny in the east, although some high cloud increasing in the west. Isolated showers in the far south coast, and isolated afternoon snow showers above 1800 metres on the far southern ranges. Southwest to northwest winds.Tuesday 21 MayCloud extending throughout the state with rain developing west of the ranges, most widespread closer to the South Australian border.
