Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 17/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow moving upper level trough will gradually weaken over the southeastern New South Wales today with remnant shower activity on the southern slopes mostly. As a low associated with the upper trough moves across the Tasman Sea, a high pressure ridge will develop across New South Wales. This high will then remain the dominant system through the region over the weekend and into next week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers over the southern slopes and ranges, with snow showers above 1400 metres at first increasing to 1700 metres. Chance of a coastal shower on southern parts of the coast during the afternoon. Fine remainder. Early frost patches about the ranges. Southwesterly winds, fresh in the east.Saturday 18 MayIsolated showers in the far southeast. Partly cloudy in the south and on the coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost about the ranges. Southwesterly winds.Sunday 19 MayWidespread frost about the ranges and slopes. The chance of afternoon snow showers above 1400 metres on the southern ranges. Partly cloudy near the coast and in the south. Sunny elsewhere. Southwesterly winds.Monday 20 MayWidespread frost about the ranges and slopes. Mostly sunny.
