Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 16/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system over the Tasman Sea will move slowly eastwards over the next few days. A slow-moving high will move over the State from the west on Friday and Saturday, reaching the east coast early next week. A low pressure system will develop near the western border later on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area, contracting to the coasts in the evening. Late evening fog patches over the northern agricultural area and south of the Pastoral and Flinders districts. Cool with generally light southwest to southerly winds.Friday 17 MayMorning fogs south of about Leigh Creek. Possible early frost patches over eastern districts. Possible isolated showers over the southern agricultural area and Spencer Gulf coasts, contracting to southern coasts later in the day. Cool to mild with mainly light southwest to southeasterly winds becoming light and variable in the west.Saturday 18 MayPossible isolated showers clearing from the southern coasts later in the day. Areas of morning fog over the agricultural area with possible frost patches over eastern districts. Cool to mild with mainly light and variable winds.Sunday 19 MayEarly morning frost on and east of the Flinders and Mount Lofty Ranges. Fine apart from patchy rain developing about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East coast, and isolated showers developing in the far northwest. Generally mild with mainly light northerly winds.Monday 20 MayPatchy rain developing over western districts and extending to southern coasts. Fine over the remainder. Generally mild with light to moderate northerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon to midnight Monday are expected to be 1 to 5 mm near the coasts, in the Lower South East and west of about Ceduna to Oodnadatta, with the chance of isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm. Less than 1 mm is expected elsewhere.Tuesday until ThursdayPatchy rain contracting eastwards to clear the State by midday on Wednesday, but isolated showers persisting, although contracting to the coasts for Wednesday and Thursday. Cool to mild with moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, shifting fresh west to southwesterly in the west on Tuesday, then fresh southerly winds extending throughout during Wednesday, easing on Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Friday.Product IDS10033
