MELBOURNE - May 15/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation An upper level trough associated with a deepening low pressure system over Bass Strait will move across southeastern New South Wales this morning. This low will move slowly east during the next few days, bringing cool and windy conditions to southern parts of the state today and Thursday. The low will move to the Tasman Sea on Friday, while a high pressure ridge develops across New South Wales. This high will then remain the dominant system through the region over the weekend and into next week. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers in the south, scattered on the western slopes of the ranges. Snow showers above 1500 metres over the southern ranges. Mostly clear elsewhere. Early frost patches about the ranges. Westerly winds, fresh in the south.Thursday 16 MayIsolated showers over the southern and central inland, tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow showers above 1400 metres over the southern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds, fresh to strong about the southeastern third.Friday 17 MayIsolated showers over the southern slopes and ranges, with snow showers above 1500 metres at first increasing to 1700 metres. Chance of a coastal shower on southern parts of the coast. Fine remainder. Early frost patches about the ranges. Southwesterly winds, fresh in the east.Saturday 18 MayIsolated showers in the far southeast. Partly cloudy in the south and on the coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost patches about the ranges. Southwesterly winds.Sunday 19 MayWidespread frost about the ranges and slopes. Partly cloudy near the coast and in the south. Sunny elsewhere. Chance of a shower on the far south coast.
