Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 15/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system near western Tasmania will move across Bass Strait on Wednesday and reach the Tasman Sea on Thursday. A high will track eastwards, well south of South Australia on Thursday and Friday, extending a ridge across the State.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayPossible early morning fog over the northern agricultural and southern pastoral districts. Isolated showers over the agricultural area, far south of the pastoral districts and the West Coast district, increasing to scattered showers about coasts and ranges until late afternoon. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwesterly winds, fresh at times in the southeast and stronger about the Lower South East coast.Thursday 16 MayPossible early morning fog over the Flinders, West Coast and southern North West Pastoral districts. Isolated showers over the southern agricultural area and possibly over the northern agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Cool to mild with light to moderate southerly winds.Friday 17 MayFine apart from the chance of isolated showers over the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Saturday 18 MayFine apart from possible isolated showers about Kangaroo Island, the southern Fleurieu Peninsula and the South East coasts. Cool to mild with generally light variable winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday to midnight Saturday are expected to be 1 to 5 mm over the agricultural area increasing to 5 to 10 mm about coasts and ranges south of Peterborough, and less than 2 mm elsewhere.Sunday until TuesdayPossible showers developing in the far west of the state on Sunday tending to patchy rain and extending throughout the Pastoral districts on Monday then contracting to the northeast and clearing on Tuesday. Isolated showers otherwise south of about Woomera to Broken Hill on Monday and Tuesday. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Generally light to moderate northerly winds freshening in the west on Sunday, shifting west to southwesterly from the west on Monday and Tuesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
