MELBOURNE - May 13/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front associated with a deepening low pressure system over Bass Strait will move across northeastern New South Wales today. This low will move slowly east over the next few days, bringing cooler conditions to southern parts of the state Wednesday and Thursday. A high pressure ridge will develop over the state towards the end of the week. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPatchy morning fog and frost over the southern ranges and slopes. Rain areas in the northeast, easing during the afternoon, clearing in the evening. Possible isolated thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers over the southern inland, falling as snow on the Alps above 1300 metres. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Cooler west to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Wednesday 15 MayIsolated showers in the southern and central inland tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow showers on the Alps above 1500 meters. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Westerly winds.Thursday 16 MayIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern and central ranges tending scattered on the Alps with snow showers above 1600 metres. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds.Friday 17 MayIsolated showers in the far southeast, with possible snow on the Alps. Fine remainder. Early frost and fog patches.
