MELBOURNE - May 13/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system west of Tasmania will move across Bass Strait on Wednesday before weakening over the Tasman Sea on Thursday. A high will track eastwards, well south of the State later this week. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayScattered showers over the southern agricultural area, with isolated showers extending over the northern agricultural area, the West Coast district, and the far south of the Pastoral districts. Cold in the southeast, cool elsewhere. Light to moderate southerly winds in the north, increasing to moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds in the south, stronger at times about the Lower South East coast south of about Beachport.Wednesday 15 MayPossible early morning fog over the Flinders and southern North West pastoral districts. Isolated showers over the agricultural area, far south of the pastoral districts and the West Coast district. Scattered showers about coasts and ranges. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds, strong at times about the Lower South East coast south of about Beachport until evening.Thursday 16 MayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and possibly over the northern agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Cool to mild with light to moderate southerly winds.Friday 17 MayFine apart from the chance of isolated showers over the agricultural area. Cool to mild with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning to midnight Friday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area, with local falls of 15 to 25 mm about southern ranges and the southeast coast. 2 to 5 mm is expected over the northern agricultural area and West Coast district and less than 2 mm over the pastoral districts.Saturday until MondayFine apart from possible isolated showers about Kangaroo Island, the southern Fleurieu Peninsula and the South East coasts on Saturday. Possible showers developing in the far west of the state on Sunday tending to patchy rain and extending throughout the North West Pastoral and West Coast districts on Monday. Isolated showers about southern coasts on Monday. Generally mild with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.
