MELBOURNE - May 13/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the southeastern Tasman Sea is moving slowly east, extending a weakening ridge to northeastern New South Wales. A cold front linked to a low to the south will move across the state during Monday and Tuesday followed by a slow moving low affecting the southeastern New South Wales on Wednesday and Thursday. Another high pressure ridge will develop over the state during Friday to Sunday. Forecast for the rest of MondayRain areas from the central north to the southeast, extending to the central coast this evening. Snow on the Alps above 1500 metres tonight. Isolated showers about the far north coast. The chance of thunderstorms over the northern inland. Fine in the far west. North to northwesterly winds turning colder west to southwesterly in the west and south.Tuesday 14 MayRain areas over the North West Slopes and Plains, easing. Isolated showers in the remainder of the northeast and in the southern inland. Possible isolated thunderstorms in the northeast. Mostly cloudy elsewhere. Cooler west to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Wednesday 15 MayIsolated showers in the southern and central inland tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow showers on the Alps above 1500 meters. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Westerly winds.Thursday 16 MayIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern and central ranges tending scattered on the Alps with snow showers above 1600 metres. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds.Friday 17 MayIsolated showers in the far southeast, with possible snow on the Alps. Fine remainder. Early frost and fog patches.
