Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 13/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow moving low pressure system west of Tasmania will extend a low pressure trough across the southeast of South Australia on Tuesday, then slowly move to the Tasman Sea by Thursday as a high pressure ridge develops over the Bight.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and West Coast district, possibly extending to the south of the Northwest Pastoral. Scattered showers, possible thunder and small hail about the South East district. Cold in the southeast, cool elsewhere. Moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds, strong about southern coasts.Tuesday 14 MayScattered showers over the southern agricultural area, isolated showers over the northern agricultural area, far south of the pastoral districts and the West Coast district. Cold in the southeast, cool elsewhere. Moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds in the south and light to moderate southerly winds in the north.Wednesday 15 MayPossible early morning fog over the Flinders and southern North West pastoral districts. Isolated showers over the agricultural area, far south of the pastoral districts and the West Coast district. Scattered showers about coasts and ranges. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Thursday 16 MayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and possibly over the northern agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Cool to mild with light to moderate southerly winds.Friday 17 MayFine apart from the chance of isolated showers over the agricultural area. Cool to mild with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon to midnight Friday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area, with local falls of 15 to 25 mm about southern ranges and the southeast coast. Around 5 mm is expected over the northern agricultural area and West Coast district and less than 5 mm over the pastoral districts.Saturday until MondayFine apart from possible isolated showers about Kangaroo Island, the southern Fleurieu Peninsula and the South East coasts on Saturday. Possible showers developing in the far west of the state on Sunday tending to patchy rain and extending throughout the North West Pastoral and West Coast districts on Monday. Isolated showers about southern coasts on Monday. Generally mild with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Northerly winds freshening in the west on Sunday, shifting southerly in the west on Monday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033
