Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 12/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the southeastern Tasman Sea is moving slowly east, extending a weakening ridge to northeastern New South Wales. A cold front linked to a low to the south will move across the state during Monday and Tuesday followed by a slow moving low affecting the southeastern New South Wales on Wednesday and Thursday. Another high pressure ridge will develop over the state during Friday to Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayPartly cloudy in the far west and on the northern and central coasts and adjacent ranges apart from the chance of showers in the northeast and chance of showers or light rain extending from the west after dark. Light rain elsewhere gradually contracting to the east with the chance of thunderstorms over the northern inland in the afternoon. Possible snow on the Alps above 1400 metres later in the day. North to northwesterly winds in the east. West to southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty in the southeast.Tuesday 14 MayIsolated showers in the northeast and in the southern inland. Mostly cloudy elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 15 MayIsolated showers in the southern and central inland tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow showers on the Alps above 1500 meters. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Westerly winds.Thursday 16 MayIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges tending scattered on the Alps with snow showers above 1600 metres. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
