Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 12/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure over the far northeast of the State will continue moving eastwards tonight. A cold front and an upper cold pool will move over the southeast of the State tonight and Monday. An associated slow moving low pressure system will develop over Tasmania later Monday, extend a low pressure trough across the southeast of South Australia on Tuesday, then slowly move to the Tasman Sea by Thursday as a high pressure ridge develops over the Bight.
Forecast for the rest of SundayPatchy rain in the far northeast. Isolated showers about the agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to scattered showers about Kangaroo Island, Fleurieu Peninsula, and the southeast. Cool to mild. Moderate west to southwesterly winds, fresh near the coast.Monday 13 MayPatchy rain in the far northeast, clearing by midday. Isolated showers over the agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to scattered about Kangaroo Island, Fleurieu Peninsula, and the southeast with the chance of isolated hail and thunder, but contracting southeastwards during the day with isolated showers to follow. Cold in the southeast, cool elsewhere. Moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds, strong about southern coasts.Tuesday 14 MayScattered showers over the southern agricultural area, isolated showers over the northern agricultural area, far south of the pastoral districts and the West Coast district. Cold in the southeast, cool elsewhere. Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.Wednesday 15 MayIsolated showers over the agricultural area, far south of the pastoral districts and the West Coast district. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwesterly winds.Thursday 16 MayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and possibly the far south of the pastoral districts. Cool to mild with light to moderate southerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon to midnight Thursday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area, with local falls of 15 to 25 mm about southern ranges and the southeast coast. Less than 5 mm elsewhere.Friday until SundayFine apart from the chance of isolated showers over the agricultural area on Friday. Becoming cloudy in the west on Sunday.
