Torres Strait to Point Danger, excluding Hervey Bay and Moreton Bay.

Crab Island.
For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's

Weather Situation
A high [1035 hPa] over the southern Tasman Sea extends a firm ridge along the
east coast of Queensland. A surface trough is expected to move north over the
southeast Queensland coast today. An upper level trough near the southern and
central Queensland coast is expected to move east during today.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday
Mostly cloudy with scattered showers about the coast, more widespread about
the North Tropical Coast. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms about the
Southeast Coast, and eastern Wide Bay, Burnett and Darling Downs. Isolated
showers over the remainder of northern and eastern Queensland. Fine and mostly
sunny in the west with another warm day. Fresh to strong and gusty SE winds
along the east coast and far northern Cape York Peninsula. Moderate to fresh SE
to NE winds elsewhere.
Forecast for Sunday
The high should move a little towards New Zealand and the ridge should also
weaken along the east coast of Queensland. Scattered showers about the east
coast, with more isolated showers over the remainder of northern and eastern
Queensland. A new surface and upper trough system is likely to move into the far
southwest with cloud increasing and some late patchy rain. A warm day in the
west.
Forecast for Monday
The high should weaken near New Zealand along with the ridge of high pressure
along Queensland's east coast. Isolated to scattered showers about the east
coast and adjacent inland, developing over the central and southeast interior
ahead of the surface trough moving across the interior. The upper trough is
expected to move eastwards, extending areas of cloud and patchy rain with
isolated thunderstorms across the southwest and southern interior. Becoming
cooler in the southwest due to the cloud and SW winds.
Forecast for Tuesday
A new high in the Great Australian Bight will extend a ridge and drier, cool
and gusty S to SW winds across the far west of the state. The upper trough is
expected to move east and offshore during the day, contracting the cloud and
patchy rain eastwards. However, the surface trough is likely to persist over the
interior, generating some showers and isolated thunderstorms over southern and
southeast districts. Isolated showers over the northern and eastern tropics.
Outlook for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
The high over the Great Australian Bight should push dry, cool air across the
west and most of the southern half of the state from Wednesday, resulting in
areas of morning frost developing about the southeast and southern interior.
Isolated showers may continue to affect parts of eastern Queensland during the
period due to an onshore flow. High cloud may increase over the west during
Wednesday and Thursday but no rain is expected at this early stage.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:10 pm EST
Saturday.
