Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 9/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system will persist over the Tasman Sea for most of the forecast period. A cold front will move across the State on Sunday while an associated low pressure system will remain to the southwest of Victoria until early next week.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine and clear. Light to moderate north to northwesterly winds over central and western districts. Light and variable winds in the east with afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Friday 10 MayEarly fog patches over the east, otherwise a fine, mild to warm and mostly sunny day with just patchy high cloud and some smoke haze. Light to moderate north to northwesterly winds over central and western districts. Light and variable winds in the east with afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Saturday 11 MayEarly fog patches over the east then a fine, mild to warm and mostly sunny day with some smoke haze and high cloud increasing over the west at night. Moderate to fresh northeast to northerly winds, lighter in the east with afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Sunday 12 MayMorning fog patches over Gippsland. Patchy rain over the southwest, extending to central districts by night. Mild to warm over central and eastern districts with fresh northerly winds, cooler northwesterly in the west.Monday 13 MayPatchy rain contracting to the east then clearing during the evening. Isolated showers to follow on and south of the ranges, more widespread in the southwest and in the northeast. Snowfalls above 1500 metres at night. Cool with light to moderate northwesterly winds, fresh to strong in the southwest.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Friday.Product IDV10310
