MELBOURNE - May 8/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system will persist over the Tasman Sea through until at least Saturday. A cold front will pass south of Tasmania tonight. Another cold front and associated low pressure trough will approach southwest Victoria late Saturday, then will move across the State on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayGenerally clear tonight with generally light to moderate northeast to northerly winds.Thursday 9 MayEarly fog patches over the east, otherwise a dry, mild to warm and mostly sunny day. Light to moderate north to northwesterly winds over central and western districts. Light and variable winds in the east with afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Friday 10 MayEarly fog patches over the east, otherwise a dry, mild to warm and mostly sunny day with just patchy high cloud. Light to moderate north to northwesterly winds over central and western districts. Light and variable winds in the east with afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Saturday 11 MayEarly fog patches over Gippsland. A dry, mild to warm and mostly sunny day with high cloud increasing over the west at night. Moderate to fresh northeast to northerly winds, lighter in the east with afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Sunday 12 MayPatchy rain extending from the southwest, reaching eastern districts at night.
