MELBOURNE - May 5/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system near Tasmania is extending a ridge across New South Wales in the wake of a vigorous cold front. This high is forecast to move slowly east over the next few days with the ridge moving to eastern NSW, promoting cool nights and dry conditions in most areas early in the new week. Forecast for the rest of SundayThe chance of light showers along the coastal fringe, mostly in the north. Fine and mostly clear elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds, fresh about parts of the coast. Dangerous surf in the north.Monday 6 MayIsolated showers along the coastal fringe and in the far southwest. Fine elsewhere. Morning frost areas on the ranges, mostly in the south, and isolated early fog patches in the east. Light to moderate winds, east to southeasterly inland, southwest to southeasterly along the coast.Tuesday 7 MayIsolated showers along the coast and in the west. Early frost patches on the ranges, mostly in the south, and early fog patches in the east. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Wednesday 8 MayIsolated showers along central and northern parts of the coast and over the central third of the state. Fine elsewhere. Early fog areas in the east. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 9 MayMorning fog areas, mostly in the east. Isolated showers along the north coast.
