MELBOURNE - May 4/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system south of the Bight is drifting slowly eastwards and will pass across Tasmania Sunday night and during Monday. The high will be centred over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday and Wednesday. Meanwhile an upper level trough will move across South Australia during Sunday, approaching northwest Victoria Sunday night. The trough will affect northwest Victoria during Monday then will spread across northern Victoria during Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayLocal early morning frost inland. Isolated showers possible about the central and Gippsland coasts, otherwise fine during the day. Isolated showers possible over the far northwest at night. A cool and mostly cloudy day in the south, milder and mainly sunny in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Monday 6 MayLocal early morning fog and frost then a cool to mild day. Mainly sunny over central and eastern districts, but partly cloudy over the west with isolated showers and thunderstorms possible over the northwest. Light easterly winds.Tuesday 7 MayA mild and mainly sunny day in the south, but partly cloudy across the north with isolated showers extending eastwards.
