MELBOURNE - May 2/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over Victoria will track northeastwards over the northern Tasman Sea on Friday. Another cold front will cross Bass Strait and southern Victoria on Friday night. The next high pressure system will move over Bight waters on Saturday. The high will then move slowly eastwards over Tasmania during Sunday and Monday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayClear. Light and variable winds tending northerly in the west.Friday 3 MayEarly frost patches in the northeast. Fine day apart from isolated afternoon and evening showers in southern districts, except for East Gippsland. A mild day with cloud increasing and north to northwesterly winds strengthening over southern and elevated areas.Fire Danger - High to very high.Saturday 4 MayScattered showers, mostly in southern and mountain districts becoming isolated and contracting to Gippsland by the early afternoon. Cool in the south, mild in the north with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds easing and tending south to southeasterly.Sunday 5 MayIsolated showers near the coast, contracting east and clearing later. Cool to mild day with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Monday 6 MayIsolated morning drizzle near the coast.
