MELBOURNE - May 1/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system will move over Victoria on Thursday then track northeastwards over the northern Tasman Sea on Friday. Another cold front will cross Bass Strait and southern Victoria on Friday night. The next high pressure system will move over Bight waters on Saturday then cross Bass Strait and Tasmania later on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayLocal early frost and fog, mainly over the west and north. Isolated morning showers in East Gippsland, otherwise a fine and mainly sunny day throughout. A cool to mild day with light winds.Friday 3 MayFine apart from isolated afternoon and evening showers in southern districts, except for East Gippsland. A mild day with cloud increasing and north to northwesterly winds strengthening over southern and elevated areas.Saturday 4 MayScattered showers, mostly in southern and mountain districts becoming isolated and contracting to Gippsland by the early afternoon. Cool in the south, mild in the north with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds easing and tending south to southeasterly.Sunday 5 MayIsolated showers in most districts, tending scattered about the ranges.
