MELBOURNE - Apr 30/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak trough of low pressure extending from central Australia to the central Tasman Sea is generating a little patchy rain to southern New South Wales today. During Wednesday, a cold front from the Southern Ocean will bring a cooler southerly change to southern and western parts of the state, continuing to the northeast early on Thursday. During this time, a high pressure system south of the Bight will strengthen before moving across New South Wales during Thursday and Friday, with any remaining precipitation limited to areas near the coast. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPatchy light rain across the southern half of the state, and the chance of a shower or two about the far north coast. Fine elsewhere. Light winds.Wednesday 1 MayAreas of morning fog in the south and east. The chance of a little light rain in the central west during the morning. Isolated showers in the southeast, mainly near the coast, extending to the central coast during the afternoon and evening. A clearing shower in the far northeast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Light winds in the northeast, with cool and fresh south to southwesterly winds extending across the remainder, becoming strong and gusty along the southern coast.Thursday 2 MayEarly fog and frost patches about the southern highlands. Isolated showers in the east, contracting to the northern coast during the day. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to southwesterly winds extending throughout, fresh and gusty about the coast, and across the north.Friday 3 MayMorning fog patches about the coast and tablelands, and early frosts about the southern highlands. Isolated showers over the northern coast, easing. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Generally light and variable winds, becoming north to northwesterly across the south.Saturday 4 MayMorning fog patches about the coast and tablelands, and early frosts about higher ground. The chance of showers about the south coast and the southern alps. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere.
