Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 28/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over inland parts will remain slow-moving on Monday as a high pressure ridge becomes established south of the Bight. An upper level feature will move over the State this evening and Monday. The high pressure ridge will persist over southern waters during Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayPossible isolated showers about the Lower South East coast. Patchy rain over western districts, tending to areas of rain in the evening, extending east to reach central districts in the evening, and possibly the Riverland and Murraylands late evening. Possible isolated thunderstorms west of Ceduna from afternoon. Moderate northeast to northwest winds in the north with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds across the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts.Monday 29 AprilAreas of rain across the agricultural area north of about Keith and the pastoral districts south of about Woomera to Yunta, contracting east and easing during the day. Possible isolated showers about the Lower South East and Kangaroo Island. Mild to warm in the south, hot in the north. Moderate northeast to northwest winds, ahead of a moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly change in the west during the morning, reaching the far northeast in the evening.Tuesday 30 AprilPatchy light rain over the northern agricultural area and the south of the pastoral districts, contracting east and clearing by early evening. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north with light to moderate southeasterly winds.Wednesday 1 MayIsolated showers about southern coasts. Mild in the south, warm to hot in the north with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Thursday 2 MayFine at first with possible isolated showers developing in the west during Saturday. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the north with moderate southeast to northeasterly winds turning northerly and freshening in the west ahead of a late southerly change on Saturday. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon until midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the south of the pastoral districts and the southern agricultural area south of about Kieth. Falls of 5 to 10 mm are expected over the remainder of the agricultural area with local falls of 10 to 20 mm north of about Adelaide.Friday until SundayFine apart from isolated showers over the agricultural area on Sunday. Generally warming at first with moderate northerly winds freshening in the west on Saturday ahead of a cooler southerly change extending across western districts on Saturday and remaining parts of the state on Sunday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Monday.Product IDS10033
