MELBOURNE - Apr 27/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will reach far southwestern Victoria tonight, then will cross central parts of the State on Sunday morning before clearing the east Sunday afternoon. A ridge of high pressure will extend from the Bight across Victoria Sunday night and will persist over the State on Monday and Tuesday. An upper level trough over the Bight on Monday, will cross Victoria early Tuesday. A cold front will cross southern Victoria on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers developing over the southwest this evening. Otherwise remaining dry with fresh to strong north to northwesterly winds locally reaching gale force about elevated areas of the south.Sunday 28 AprilScattered showers developing in the south with isolated showers possible north of the divide. Showers contracting to the east and the coast in the evening. Cloudy periods with fresh, mild west to northwesterly winds, easing and tending cooler west to southwesterly.Fire Danger - Generally High.Monday 29 AprilEarly fog patches in the south. A mild day, becoming cloudy with patchy rain extending across the north. Isolated showers possible in the south, mainly near the coast. Generally light westerly winds, locally fresh about the ranges.Tuesday 30 AprilIsolated morning showers possible near the coast. Patchy rain over the north, contracting to the east during the evening. A mild day with light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Wednesday 1 MayIsolated showers over the south, more widespread and tending to rain at times during the morning over the east.
