Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 26/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over western South Australia will move eastwards be over the Tasman Sea later Saturday. A cold front will move across western coasts on Saturday, reaching Kangaroo Island in the evening and extending across the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts on Sunday. A low pressure trough will extend across the State on Monday, reaching the far northeast in the evening, with a high pressure ridge developing over the Bight on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine. Areas of high cloud in the west and south, clear elsewhere. Mild to warm. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds in the northeast, tending moderate north to northwesterly elsewhere.Saturday 27 AprilFine apart from isolated showers developing about Kangaroo Island and the South East late afternoon and evening, possibly extending across remaining parts of the southern agricultural area south of Adelaide. Warm, grading to hot in the north and west. Moderate to fresh north to northwest winds, strengthening about southern coasts and ranges during the morning, ahead of a moderate to fresh southwest to southerly change extending across western coasts during the afternoon and reaching Kangaroo Island late evening.Sunday 28 AprilIsolated showers extending across the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Mild to warm in the south, hot in the north. Moderate northeast to northwest winds ahead of a moderate southwest to southeasterly change across the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts.Monday 29 AprilIsolated showers across the agricultural area and pastoral districts south of about Coober Pedy to Broken Hill, increasing to scattered over the southern agricultural area south of Adelaide. Mild to warm in the south, hot in the north. Moderate northeast to northwest winds, ahead of a moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly change in the west during the morning, reaching the far northeast in the evening.Tuesday 30 AprilIsolated showers over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts, contracting to southern coasts by evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the south of the pastoral districts, reaching 5 to 10 mm over the agricultural area, with local falls of 10 to 15 mm.Wednesday until FridayPossible isolated showers about coastal districts, contracting to southern coasts and clearing Thursday morning. Fine throughout on Friday. Mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending northerly late in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
