to the Central Coast south of Mackay, and is moving slowly north. An upper
trough lies over western Queensland and is expected to move eastwards across
southern Queensland over the next few days.

northern tropical interior Fine and mostly clear elsewhere. Moderate to fresh SE
winds along the northeast tropical coast, light to moderate SE to E winds

about Queensland's east coast. Meanwhile the upper trough will move offshore,
allowing fine and mostly sunny conditions to spread across all of Queensland's
interior. Cool early in the morning across the southern interior.
Forecast for Sunday
The high should move into the Tasman Sea and maintain an onshore flow and
mainly isolated showers across Queensland's east coast. An upper level ridge
developing over the centre of the state will produce a dry and stable airmass
leading to fine and mostly sunny conditions over the interior. Cool early in the
morning across the southern interior.
Forecast for Monday
the upper ridge over central Queensland will maintain dry and stable
conditions throughout inland parts of the state. The ridge along the east coast
will maintain the onshore winds and at least a few showers along the entire east
coast.
Outlook for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
A ridge of high pressure should remain along Queensland's east coast, and it
should continue to push mainly isolated showers across at least parts of the
state's far east, possibly enhanced in the far north as a trough or low moves
west across the Coral Sea. Fine and sunny conditions will continue over western
Queensland under the influence of a dry, stable air mass.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am EST
Friday.
