Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 24/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
The northern tip of a weakening cold front will clear out of southern Victoria tonight. A high pressure system over South Australia will move slowly eastwards across New South Wales during Thursday and Friday, reaching the Tasman Sea on Saturday. Meanwhile a cold front will cross Tasmania late on Thursday. A stronger cold front will approach southwest Victoria Saturday night before crossing the State on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayScattered showers in the south contracting to the coast and becoming isolated later this evening. The chance of thunderstorms in the southwest and central districts at first. Remaining dry over the north and far east. Cool with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Thursday 25 AprilMorning fog patches inland, mainly in the north and west. Partly cloudy with isolated light showers near the coast, locally extending inland over western and central districts in the afternoon. A fine afternoon in the far north and east. Generally mild with light to moderate westerly winds, fresh on the exposed coast.Fire Danger -  Moderate to high.Friday 26 AprilMorning fog patches in the north and east. Isolated light showers mainly over the southwest and about the ranges. A generally mild and partly cloudy day with a moderate to fresh west to northwesterly wind.Saturday 27 AprilDry throughout with a strengthening north to northwesterly wind. Mild to warm and mainly sunny although high cloud increasing from the west.Sunday 28 AprilScattered showers developing in the southwest early in the morning then extending to most southern and mountain areas during the day. Isolated showers penetrating just north of the divide but dry in the far north. Fresh mild west to northwesterly winds, easing and tending cool southwesterly.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Thursday.Product IDV10310
