MELBOURNE - Apr 23/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over South Australia will move slowly eastwards across New South Wales during Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, reaching the Tasman Sea on Saturday. Meanwhile a cold front will move through Bass Strait on Wednesday, with another to follow Thursday night. A slightly stronger front will approach southwest Victoria Saturday night. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers mostly near the coast. but dry inland. Generally light winds.Wednesday 24 AprilMorning fogs patches in the north and east. Isolated showers mainly on and south of the ranges and the chance of thunderstorms about the coast and over the southwest during the afternoon. Dry over far northern and eastern districts. Cool to mild with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Thursday 25 AprilMorning fog patches in the east and far north. Partly cloudy with the chance of isolated light showers over most districts, but dry over the southeast. Generally mild with light to moderate westerly winds, fresh on the exposed coast.Friday 26 AprilMorning fog patches in the north and east. Isolated light showers mainly over the southwest and about the ranges. A generally mild and partly cloudy day with a moderate to fresh west to northwesterly wind.Saturday 27 AprilDry throughout with a strengthening northwesterly wind.
